Maccabi Electra announced signing of one-year contract extension with their captain Derrick Sharp
(183-G-71, college: S.Florida). It means that veteran point guard will play his 15th season with the Israeli giant. He joined them in 1996 from D3 team Betar Migdal-Haemek and never left the club. Last season, Sharp appeared seven times in Euroleague having 1.1 ppg. In Premier Legague he had 3.3 ppg in 22 games.


Sharp won many titles and personal awards with Maccabi. He helped the team to win the Suproleague in 2001 and later to win the Euroleague twice (04, 05). Maccabi also reached the Euroleague Finals three times (00, 06, 08). In domestic championship, Sharp won 12 titles. He played for the Israeli NT on EuroBasket 2001 and 2003.
